Wie was Noel E. Lee?
Noel Esmond Lee werd geboren in 1897 in Chelford in
Cheshire East in Groot-Brittannië en was de zoon van Noel
en Lilian Lee. Hij had nog een jongere zus, genaamd
Josephine Lee.
Hij ging vanaf z'n vierde leeftijd naar het
Nether Alderley Primary School, in Cheshire nabij
Macclesfield.
Tijdens de Derde Slag om Ieper, ofwel gekend
als de Slag om Passendale, was hij captain van de
8 Battalion, King's Royal Rifle Corps. Hij sneuvelde
op 20 jarige leeftijd op 24 augustus 1917.
Zijn lichaam werd nooit terug gevonden en staat
vermeld op het Tyne Cot Memorial for the Missings
op paneel 115.
Zijn vader was Brigade Generaal en stierf
op 22 juni 1915, tijdens de Derde Slag om Krithia.
Hij ligt begraven op het Pieta Military Cemetery.
Who was Noel E. Lee?
Noel Esmond Lee was born in 1897 at Chelford,

Older brother of Josephine Lee.
He went to the Nether Alderley Primiary School, nearby
Cheshire, Macclesfield, in 1911.
During the Third Battle of Ypres, or also know as the
Battle of Passchendaele, he was captain of the
8th Division, King's Royal Rifle Corps. He died on
August 24, 1917. He was 20 years old. His bodie never
been found and he is commemorated on the
Tyne Cot Memorial for the Missing on panel 115.
His father was Brigade General and died on
June 22, 1915 during the Third Battle of Krithia.
He is burried on the Pieta Military Cemetery.
